SWIMMING AT DELAWARE NATIONAL COUNTRY CLUB
An olympic-size pool, plus a wading and learning pool for children, adds cool enjoyment during the heat of the summer. The furnished sundeck overlooks a scenic panorama.
DELAWARE NATIONAL SWIMMING & DIVING TEAM
The Delaware National Swimming and Diving Team (The Hurricanes) consists of children ages 5-18. They compete is different age groups depending on their age as of June 1 of the current year. Participating Teams in the Country Club Association of Northern Delaware are Brandywine Cuntry Club, Greenville Country Club, Delaware National Country Club, Newark Country Club and Wilmington Country Club. The teams meet twice during the season, one home meet, one away meet. Each swimmer is permitted to swim in two individual events and in one relay in addition to diving. Some instruction is given along with the training and preparation team members receive for their events.
The season begins with afternoon practice The first week of June, 4:30 - 6:30 p.m. Morning practices will start on in the middle of June at 8:30 a.m. Specific age group and Diving Program practice will be announced at later dates. The season ends in July with the Club Championships. |
LESSONS
The Swimming Pool Staff will offer group and private swim lessons throughout the summer. Private lessons for all ability levels. Group lessons are offered in one-week increments (five sessions) after the end of the swim team season. Classes of varying ability levels will be filled based on interest.
